Mental Health Resources
Updated: Sep 10
Below are some resources which I have found to be valuable in addressing many questions we may have around common mental health issues.
I'll keep adding new resources to this page, so keep an eye on it. And let me know if you have any suggestions which you feel would be useful for others!
Food for the Brain - With a library of interesting articles, with a particular focus on cognition
Andrew Solomon: The Secret We Share, 29m - A powerful description of what it is to live with depression
Alessandra Pigni, The Idealist's Survival Kit - Aimed at humanitarian workers and useful for anyone
Pete Walker, Complex PTSD - Very insightful and practical
Lisa Mosconi, The XX Brain - By a neuroscientist with a passion for research on women's health, with a focus on dementia prevention
Matthew Walker, Why We Sleep - The quintessential book on the mechanisms of sleep
* Andrew Huberman is a professor of neurobiology at Stanford University. He examines these topics from the point of view of biochemical mechanistic pathways and offers practical tools, often involving nutrients and behaviours. He goes into depth, but also explains complex concepts in simple terms.
